Dj Migas aka Membrana is a Portuguese artist that has dedicated all his life to the music and experimental ambient. At a time when Portuguese music context was very creative and underground in the late 80īs, he passed through various garage bands, where he acquired a lot of experience and influence as a musician. With the beginning of electronic music movements in Portugal he started investigating new forms of expression based on technology (computers and machines). Around 1994 he started looking at dj'ing as a way to transmit a singular style, a experimental and unique mental type of dance music, with no boundaries. Not limiting himself to any style of music, he saw only one gender that could integrate his flexible music views: psychedelic trance. Migas was one of the pioneers of this movement in the Portuguese soil. Then in 1997 he began to dedicate more time on music production. He started searching and exploring for new sounds. The melting of his influences resulted in a very experimental style not following any kind of formula or rule! He collaborated with different musicians, acquired new know-how and technique. The project Jikkai (the first Portuguese psy-trance live-act played in Boom 98) was the very beginning that turned after some years into the actual project called Membrana. Here he found a path to fuse the real with the unreal, the unlimited effect that music creates on body and mind. Believing in difference, he found under this own project the only way to express himself and his ideas of an unreal reality. After single releases on Inpsyde Media and on Ketuh Rec. his debut album presents 9 new unreleased full lysergic trance tracks that will turn your brain inside out.
